The Wisdom Of Dark Matter: In Color

Only angels hide in colors,
and colors never die.

the one World Axis — blacker than black
Deeper than Deepak

from which there is no escape
Only the light of day remains

The Blimp Out Back

Goodyear Blimp

Have you ever walked out to your back porch on a cool Saturday morning,

only to see one of these humongous things floating in the sky?

Goodyear Blimp at Lincoln Airport

I’m thinking, “U.F.O.? Or is Pink Floyd in town?”

Blimp in stealth mode

Going into stealth mode, the blimp attempts to hide behind some trees.

Blimp and Bird

It looked like a whale searching for a safe spot on the runway to beach itself.

Blimp with wings

I hear tell they planned for a sleepover at Lincoln Airport.

My proud petunias quickly spread the gossip.

A Tribute To My Nephew

Richard Alexander Watson

“Fly high, dear nephew! And say Hi to your dad,

and my dad, and the rest of our heavenly family for me. Will ya?”

Alex's Ninja

You see, Alex, 23, bought this motorcycle a couple of months ago.

Alex's cross/memorial

He went on to meet his Maker just a ways beyond this cross.

Uncle Tree and Alex's cross

I work for Kawasaki, and I stand for Uncle Tree.

No need to imagine how I felt.

A good turnout for Alex's memorial cross placement

The trail of tears ended here on Highway 210, near Richmond, Missouri.

Alex's riding friends -- Fly High

Friends and family showed up by the numbers, which made me quite proud.

An angel in the midst

An angel in the midst is always a comforting sign.

Burnin' for Alex

Burning one for Alex made for a righteously appropriate goodbye.

Smokin' tires and blowing trees

Blowing trees is like smoking tires —

they both end up taking you to the place you’d rather be.

Alex's Nismo 370z

Alex’s Nismo 370z did likewise, but now it remains as part of his legacy,

Alex's skateboards, shoes, and flowers at Thurmon Funeral Home

as do his skateboards and tennis shoes, and the beautiful arrangements.

“Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with such a sweet boy.”

Uncle Tree

Born To Fry

Uncle Tree's catfish

It reached 99° here yesterday!

Boats close call

By one degree, we beat the record high set in 1912.

Blue Heron at Branched Oak Lake

For comparison’s sake, last year the high was 76°.

Branched Oak Lake family

On or off the water, everyone was hot to trot.

Seagulls and sailboats

Seagulls seem to celebrate the heated debate.

Sunset on Branched Oak Lake

Still, at the end of the day, there’s no better place to be.
