When I hold you next to me,
the world just falls away…
Hold me ’till the morrow comes,
but kiss me for today!

Once Again For Her

Posted in poetry with tags , , , on April 18, 2011 by Uncle Tree

*

She loves me like no other,

never thought I’d feel this way.

She sees me as her lover,

I have seen the light of day.

*

Nothing she can do to ever turn my heart away.

Messages comes through that tell me this is where I’ll stay.

In her arms I find myself not knowing what to say,

‘cuz in her eyes I see how she breathes life into the clay.

*

She loves me like no other,

never thought I’d feel this way.

I’ll always be her lover.

Here together! Come what may -

*

Everything she does for me, I feel it deep inside.

My soul lies bare, she sees it all – no where to run and hide.

The longing I once had is gone – my sorrows took a ride.

She parts the clouds – the sun comes out – I’ll take her for my bride!

*

She loves me like no other,

never thought I’d feel this way.

From now until forever,

in my heart – she’ll always stay!

.

Here

is a sight we seldom see:

union in tragedy.

Lights from the heart light up the dark,

showing the way to be.

Enough Aplenty

Posted in poetry with tags , , , , , , , , , , on August 20, 2009 by Uncle Tree

.

Leave well enough alone.

Always despise not good enough.

Enjoy enough? Well…yes, of course.

Loathe not enough.

Love enough.

.

Be thankful for those times

when you do have enough.

Tell you what…I’ve had enough of this.

Enough already. Enough! Enough!

There’s enough for everyone.

Take some, have some, it’s good for you!

.

Now, are you enough?

Or should you be more than enough?

How can you be more than enough?

That I am is simply enough.

Thus, what I am now is enough.

I am enough!

Love enough.

.

You don’t need to be more than enough.

The Universe will forever be that.

Enough is enough.

Please have enough.

Nuff said.

Prey Of Fate

Posted in Christianity, poetry with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 16, 2009 by Uncle Tree

I look for a sign faithfully,

and wonder about my destiny.

Refusing to let fate choose for me,

I make each choice individually.

.

Questioning my purpose, I ask Thee,

is it your will or mine? Respectfully,

can we compromise then? Openly?

I pray for answers with humility.

Knock On Good

No good comes to man

when he is in love with an idea.

Good ideas come

when love is in man.

Free The Golden Calf

Posted in poetry with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 30, 2009 by Uncle Tree

.

Steady is the hand

keeping balance in the land

as it measures the cost

of freedom on demand

.

A hero’s song unsung

off the tip of a silent tongue

reminds us of the place where

only the good die young!

.

With red roses near

blue skies that stretch for years

those broad stripes and bright stars

prepare our youth for tears

.

“Left, right, left…” we stride

to breach the great divide

We must march together

or risk this nation’s pride

.

If In God We Trust

but for more loot we lust

the Golden Calf we’ll praise

half buried in the dust

.

About face!

.

As one united nation

let us move in the same direction –>

towards a day worth remembering

and a history worth repeating

.

A Timeless Longing

Posted in poetry with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 10, 2009 by Uncle Tree

.

Humanity longs to be free,

not knowing the longing itself.

Humanity longs to be loved,

not knowing freedom itself.

Humanity longs to give aid,

not knowing to help itself.

Humanity longs to know itself,

not knowing itself afraid.

Humanity longs to be brave,

not knowing courage itself.

Humanity longs to be itself,

not knowing it longs to belong.

Humanity longs to love itself,

not knowing

love is the longing.
